How do you pick your outfits for YOUR senior photos?Choosing your outfits for senior photos…it can be fun, but also confusing!

Do you guys feel lost in the abyss of shopping, spending hours scrolling and adding things to online carts and then abandoning them? Yeppp, I do that (raising my hand sheepishly right now). Or, maybe you keep four thousand tabs open of outfit ideas and forget all about them a week later (the struggle is realllll).

The Secret:

Okay, actually it’s really no secret…choosing your outfits wisely is crucial for gorgeous photos! Emily’s style is on point…a white Free People top, and a sweet little sundress. The pieces are simple and totally brings out her beautiful features. Her blonde hair is giving me all the beach goddess mermaid vibes!

As a photographer, I know what looks great on camera and I’m here to help you! After booking your session, I’ll be sending you a guide on what to wear. You’ll learn about what colors look great for my photography style, what NOT to wear, and stores to shop for unique and pretty styles. Plus, I’ll send out a link to my Pinterest board for style inspo. (Or you can also find it right now by clicking here: Pinterest Outfit Inspo . )

Give yourself plenty of time!

Booking your session 4-8 weeks in advance to allow for enough time to find outfits is also key! Once you narrow it down to your top faves, I help you choose which outfits will work best for your session location, body type and style! And, as always, I’m here to answer questions along the way.

I can’t wait to see what gorgeous outfits you all come up with this year! To book your senior session, click here: https://nicole-marie.co/contact

Sooo…what exactly should you wear?:

-Something that you are able to do a variety of poses in (sitting, twirling)
-A variety of outfits that show your personality. I always suggest a cute, flowy dress and a more casual outfit
-NUDE undergarments
-Clothing that accentuates your best features
-Simple Jewelry, thin chained necklaces and delicate earrings
-Colorful/petite beads look super cute with summer/beach sessions
-Choose pastels, whites, blues, and jewel colors

What NOT to wear (girl, just don’t do it):

-Wrinkled + dull colored clothes: steamers work wonders for those who hate ironing! (currently raising my hand)!
-Busy patterns (plaid, camo, etc)
-Short skirts or shorts that show too much when sitting or squatting
-Chunky, distracting jewelry
-Tops that are cut too low or show cleavage
-Clothes that are too tight-fitting: if you can’t breathe and feel super uncomfortable, it’s a sign to ditch it

Inspired by Emily:

Emily’s session in Ocean City is a reminder of the beauty in simple things in life: ukulele strumming, barefoot frolicking, and splashing through the salty skim of that sparkling blue bay. Scroll on down to see some fun captures from Emily’s senior session. Her simple style, dainty jewelry and outfit colors pair perfectly with nature!
